I just recieved a call from an unidentified source informing me of a "Tea Party" happening across America, and telling me to "wake up".

Fortunately, I already know that this is in reference to a Republican attempt at screwing with the presidency of our President Obama.

I don't know if this call is being placed across the country, or if it's being place by the same number, but if you get a call from this number = 1-210-892-1132 = report it immediately as anything other than helpful.
If you have to, and it's available in your area, do "*69" to get the number, writing down the time and date of the call.

The call I recieved started with a man's voice saying "America..."

BTW - the repubes don't seem to have a clue what teabagging actually is. If you know any of them, kindly inform them what the term really means, that they are encouraging homosexual behavior (will will completely freak them out), and that they are idots.

This concludes today's public service announcement.
Thank you.

This is what my report said on a whose-calling-me website:

Just recieved a call from this number at 10:23am. A man's voice came on telling me about a tea party happening across the county, and telling me to wake up. This is a political call - a republican attempt at trying to influence the Obama administration. How do I know that? Google "tea party -revolutionary", and you'll be able to find it yourself. I don't appreciate political calls, especially when they don't even bother to tell me that it's political, so I have to find out on my own. This guy needs to stop being an idiot. BTW - "tea bagging" as the republican party is using, is a term refering to a homosexual act, and is an encouragement to homosexual activity. Just thought anyone out there reading this who is encouraging this crap should know ;-)

***Edit

I tried to refind the site I placed that comment on. Of sourse, I wasn't smart enough to save it. And, as luck would have it, I can't find it again. If anyone sees that comment, please give me the address so I can let others know. Thanks.

Current Mood: pissed at stupid Repubes

I am SO glad that Obama won the presidency last night, but not because of who he is.

Yes, I know...a little confusing. Here's my attempt at an explanation.

I don't care that he is black (African-American, for those stuck on being PC, which most of my black friends really don't give a damn about).
And, I don't care that he is the first Black elected to be president.

The fact of the matter is that, no matter who won, it would be a first. If Hillary had made it, she would have been the first woman president.
If McCain had won < tripple-cringe...many spine chills >, we would have had the first female vice president < double-cringe at the thought of Palin in the white house >.

No matter who made it, it would have been the first time for something.

Also, his African-American heritage doesn't mean anything to me. I couldn't give a damn less about the color of someone's skin. Obama could be green with red-plaid spots, and I'd still be glad he won.

No. I'm glad he won because, had he not, we'd have four more years of George-"The War Monger"-Bush.

Yes, I know, McCain and George bush aren't physically the same...and if you don't know that, then you need stronger glasses than mine. But, they do have almost identical ideas about how to run this country...and we all know how that's turned out so far.

Privacies invaded, notably by the government's secret and not-so-secret listening to of people's private phone conversations in the name of "security", as well as other actions taken by the Bush administration.
The banning of certain people from being able to travel, strictly because someone in homeland security didn't like his or her name (remember Cat Stevens?), which prevented all others with that name from traveling as well.
This war with the Middle East that, had McCain been elected, we would all be subject to for any infinite number of years, because some children in adult costumes serving who-knows-who in Washington want to be rulers of the playground.

The list goes on, and anyone reading this can just go to Google to find the rest.

No, I'm happy that Obama won because now, we have a chance to make things right...not just with ourselves, but with those in the rest of the world that Bush, in all his lack of wisdom, has completely pissed off.

Now, I know that Barack Obama's win inspires a vast number of people, especially and of course those in the Black community.
When Black parents now say to their children that they could grow up to be president, they can actually mean it, instead of constantly thinking in the back of their minds that it'll never actually happen.

When Blacks and other nationalities in other countries look at our presidency, they now have hope that they, too, can become the leaders of their parts of the world.
But, I don't care about any of that.

To be frank, if we had elected a gold fish as president, I'd be happy, because it would mean the republican reign of terror had come to an end.

At least, until America forgets how horrible this country can become with a repube in office, and stupidly elects another one. Hopefully, I'll have enough money to move to Australia by then (donations GLADLY accepted...favors included for musclebears >:-P ).

On a very slightly different note, there were a couple of things I really didn't like as I was watching the election coverage on ABC.

Firstly, that Oprah claimed she had nothing to do with Barack's win.

Um...yeah, and the water I drink doesn't make me have to take a piss.

Oprah, I love watching your show, but sometimes you're full of crap.

Everyone who watches you knows that you campaigned for him, in key areas of the country that he needed to gain support from. If you don't think you helped, maybe it's time to retire, cause you're losing it.
I don't think she shouldn't have campaigned for him. Although I don't believe celebrities should endorse those running for office, especially celebs as well known as Oprah, because they do influence people's choice by doing so...Oprah did what she felt she needed to do, and that it was the right time to do it. I respect that determination to do what a person feels is right.

But for her to say she had nothing to do with his win is a bold-faced lie.
Come on, Oprah...Own up.

Secondly, as at least one other LJ poster has said, Jessie Jackson is a media whore. I am so tired of seeing him, that it almost made me sick to my stomach when they cut to him crying like a baby.

Hey Jessie, everyone else there was crying because they were so happy to have a president they could believe in. You were just crying for joy because you now have a new reason to do the media circuit...extolling the incredible virtues of having a Black president, as opposed to having a president of any skin color that is actually going to get the job done.
Would you have cried if he were Hispanic?
How about Asian?

Middle-Eastern?

Doubt it.

Obama's human. Yes he is black, but his skin color doesn't make him anymore than flesh and blood...a person, just like the rest of us, and it makes me sick to know that you're going to use the color of his skin to further your self righteous views, and undeserved acclaim.
Someone please put him on medication, before he shows up on Good Morning America...PLEASE!?
And, before you start trying to claim racism...I thought Robin Roberts reporting, as well as the personal story she told about her father, after Barack won, was excellent and beautiful, in that order. And, again, I do have Black friends who know for a fact that I don't have a racist bone in my body.
Not to mention that I had the nicest Asian guy for a while (not hubby material, but really not bad...draw your own conclusions...and, yes, nicely "gifted").

So, take that to mean that you can bite me.

Otherwise, aside from being disappointed with the Southern states who didn't vote for him (then again, when am I not disappointed with the Southern states...although, I gotta admit I'd do most of the guys down there-something about that backwoods, redneck, corn-fed country boy look with a drawl always gets to me), I thought is was a great election.

To those in Cali, gay marriage isn't legal here in New York, either. It was for a little while, but the bigots took over.
You definitely have my condolences on the Pop 8 vote. I would have bet money that it wasn't going to pass. Unfortunately, the LDS church (doesn't LDS sound like a drug...like a hallucinogen; like a dyslexic tried to spell 'LSD'...maybe they're on it?) teaches bigotry and hatred, and scares it's members into doing and believing what it wants them to.

But, do NOT give up! This was nothing more than a temporary set back. One that can be corrected, and it will be.
Hell, we have our first Black president. Look at that, and know that all things can happen.
